Kareena Kapoor says She was Warned not to Marry Saif

Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals that she was warned against tying the knot with Saif Ali Khan because he was a divorcee.

The actress got married to Saif Ali Khan in an intimate ceremony in 2012 against people’s wishes.

Since then, the couple is known as one of the best Bollywood couples.

Yet, many will be shocked to know that Kareena was initially being discouraged to marry the actor.

A resurfaced video of Kareena on Koffee with Karan in 2019, has been making the rounds on social media.

She disclosed that many tried to dissuade her from marrying the love of her life.

Talking to Karan, she said:

“I’m just glad that people are doing things now and talking more about their love.

Kareena Kapoor added that she was being told not to marry Saif because he was divorced with two children. She said:

“When I wanted to marry Saif, everyone was like, ‘He has two children, he has been divorced. Are you sure you want to do this?’

Saif was married to actress Amrita Singh. The former couple has two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. However, they ended their marriage in 2004.

Kareena Kapoor further added that her career was used as another way to deter her.

The actress was in the prime of her career when she decided to tie the knot with Saif. She said:

“They were like, ‘Your career will be over.’ And I was like, ‘Such a big crime to be in love? Such a big crime to get married? Let’s do it, let’s see what happens.”

During her interaction on the popular talk show, Karan applauding Kareena for “owning her life and career” as she continued with her successful career.

Actress Priyanka Chopra was also present on the talk show. She praised Kareena for the way she conducted herself during her pregnancy.

Kareena gave birth to Taimur Ali Khan in December 2016. Priyanka said:

“Even how she carried off her pregnancy was so unheard of in India.”

Karan further added that Kareena made an appearance on the show when she was expecting Taimur.

Priyanka then went on to say:

“Not just that, how fabulous she was and how she did the things that she does.

“I mean, I remember seeing those pictures and I was like, ‘See, now that’s what I am also going to do.”

Despite the negative response Kareena faced, the couple rose from the hardship and proved everyone wrong.
