"It's gonna be heavily censored."
Samay Raina appears to be bringing India’s Got Latent Season 2 to Netflix, based on cryptic announcements from both the creator and the streaming giant.
The popular comedy format has been the subject of intense speculation among fans since Samay confirmed the show’s return during his comedy special.
Netflix India and Samay released a mysterious teaser on Instagram that featured Samay’s bodyguard, Amin Khan, standing in front of red curtains.
The cheeky announcement was accompanied by an equally playful caption that read:
“Drop (lemon and spice emojis) in the comments pls, we’re gonna need it.”
The reference to lemon and spice emojis appears to be a clever callback to the Indian tradition of nimbu mirchi, or lemon and green chillies.
In many Indian households, a string of one lemon and seven green chillies is traditionally believed to ward off the evil eye and bring good luck.
Samay also reshared the post on his Instagram Stories, further signalling his own involvement and support for whatever project Netflix was teasing.
He also posted another picture of himself holding nimbu mirchi, suggesting his next project would need fans’ support to keep negativity at bay.
The gesture seemed to reference the backlash the first season faced when it was taken down from YouTube following the Ranveer Allahbadia controversy.
While the post has sparked widespread speculation about India’s Got Latent Season 2, Samay has not yet made a clear official announcement.

The timing of the teaser comes after Samay confirmed Season 2 of the show during his comedy special Still Alive to eager fans.
For months following that announcement, fans had been waiting patiently for further updates about when Season 2 would arrive.
The Netflix teaser appears to finally provide some concrete information.
Fans are now convinced that the teaser is directly linked to India’s Got Latent Season 2 and what appears to be its Netflix debut.
Reddit users quickly declared that Netflix had effectively confirmed the show’s return through this clever promotional move.
One fan wrote: “I think Netflix had also bought season 1 as they did with Kota Factory, who knows.”
Another comment read: “If this is what it takes to keep Latent alive, no problem at all.”
Several fans also expressed significant concern that the show would lose its raw appeal if it moved to Netflix.
Many fans feared that the content would be more heavily moderated and censored compared to its original YouTube version’s freedom.
One comment read: “Blud robbed subscription money for so many months only to bend down to the OTT platforms.”
Other comments echoed similar sentiments about potential censorship and loss of the show’s original unfiltered character and appeal.
One fan complained: “It’s gonna be heavily censored.”
India’s Got Latent built its reputation on raw, unfiltered comedy and uncensored interviews with celebrities discussing their lives.
