The BBC’s hit competition series Gladiators has reportedly given Giant’s replacement a commanding new show name ahead of the next series.

Fitness instructor Ahmad Rabus will reportedly compete under the name The Emperor, replacing Jamie Bigg, who performed as Giant before leaving the show.

According to reports, producers believe the new identity will help Ahmad establish himself following Giant’s departure.

Jamie previously claimed he was removed from the programme because the BBC did not approve of his relationship with his now-former partner, Taylor Ryan, an OnlyFans model.

Despite fans campaigning for Giant to return, Ahmad has reportedly already impressed producers during filming for the upcoming series.

A source told The Sun: “Giant was one of the most popular Gladiators so bosses needed a big personality to take his place.

“They absolutely love Ahmad and think his show name, The Emperor, is iconic and will make a big impression with viewers. He is strong-minded and brilliant at getting into character.”

Filming has already taken place at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, with Dan Baldwin’s production company Hungry Bear producing the BBC series.

Ahmad Rabus, who lives in London, is a married father of one and has built an impressive reputation in the fitness world.

He has won numerous bodybuilding competitions, including being crowned Mr Universe in Italy in 2015.

Speaking about his fitness journey on his gym profile, Ahmad said:

“My passion with fitness started at a young age.

“I started training at the age of 17 and have undergone my own transformation and dedicated myself to training for 17 years.”

Ahmad Rabus’ reported casting comes after Athena addressed speculation surrounding her own exit from Gladiators.

It was reported that Athena, whose real name is Karanjeet Kaur Bains, would not appear in series four after previously suffering an injury.

However, the powerlifter broke her silence on her exit in a TikTok post.

Alongside a video of herself training on the track, she wrote:

“I’ve seen a lot of speculation recently that I’m still injured…”

“The truth is I’ve been fully fit for several months now and honestly, I’m the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been.

“The rest I’ll comment on in due course, but I just wanted to set the record straight.

“In the meantime, here’s my latest track sessions… Actions speak louder than words.”
