"traitors may very well go to Pakistan and watch the film."
MNS leader Ameya Khopkar is against the reported release of The Legend of Maula Jatt in India, issuing a warning.
It is heavily speculated that the Pakistani blockbuster will release in India.
However, there has been vocal opposition to the film’s release in India.
On December 9, 2022, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Ameya Khopkar took to Twitter to share a threatening post against the Pakistani film’s release in India.
He tweeted: “There are plans to release Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Pakistani film The Legend of Maula Jatt in India.
“It is most infuriating that an Indian company is leading this plan. Following Raj Saheb’s orders we will not let this film release anywhere in India.”

In a separate tweet, he added:
“Fawad Khan’s fans, traitors may very well go to Pakistan and watch the film.”
Ameya’s tweet led to a mixed response, although many were in agreement.
One said: “Completely agree, no release of any Pakistani film should be allowed in India.
“The money earned in India by Pakistan indirectly sponsors terrorism so no Pakistan.”
Another said: “Please inform us who this traitor is that wants to bring Pakistani trash to India.
“Have to know the in-house traitors beforehand.”
However, others were not happy with his threatening tweet.
One said: “Such intolerant people such as you should not exist on this earth.
“Shame on you. You are a curse on Hinduism and Hindus, Vedic culture in general.”
Another user criticised Khopkar’s leadership:
“You can only spread hatred and use it for elections.
“You haven’t done anything for the welfare of the public.
“Just using hatred as tactics and playing with the emotions of the innocent public.”
The Legend of Maula Jatt is one of the most expensive films in Pakistani cinema history.
It’s a reboot of the Pakistani classic Maula Jatt (1979).
The film follows Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan), a fierce prizefighter with a tortured past who seeks vengeance against his arch nemesis Noori Natt (Hamza Ali Abbasi), the most feared warrior in the land of Punjab.
Loyalties are challenged and families are torn apart in an epic tale of truth, honour and justice.
The Legend of Maula Jatt also starred the likes of Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik. It was released on October 13, 2022, and received huge praise.
