The spectacle placed Arijit Singh alongside icons
The roar of over 50,000 voices rang out at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 5 as Arijit Singh etched his name into history, becoming the first Indian artist ever to headline a sold-out UK stadium.
Fans described the performance as “legendary”.
Singh’s voice transformed the London football stadium into a sea of emotion, unity and unrestrained celebration.
From ‘Tum Hi Ho’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ to inventive cross-genre surprises, his presence kept the audience spellbound for more than three and a half hours.
The night reached new heights when sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar joined him for a surprise collaborative set.
Their specially arranged pieces, taken from an upcoming project, fused Singh’s soulful vocals with Shankar’s transcendent artistry in a moment that left the crowd awestruck.
Fans travelled from across Europe to experience the once-in-a-lifetime concert as it was Singh’s only European performance of 2025.
Tickets disappeared at record speed, with 25,000 snapped up within hours, culminating in a packed stadium of more than 50,000 who sang along to every word.
The spectacle placed Arijit Singh alongside icons such as Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons and Lady Gaga, all of whom have graced the same stage.
Yet on Friday, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium belonged solely to him, proving language is no barrier to connection.
There were unforgettable highlights throughout the night.
A symphonic arrangement of ‘Kesariya’ with a 25-piece orchestra, a hushed acoustic medley, and a dazzling light show turned the North London sky into a kaleidoscope of colour and sound.
Production played a major role in the show’s success.
Singh’s team built a multi-tiered stage with LED panels, immersive 360-degree visuals and a state-of-the-art sound system.
Fans were treated to cinematic projections, laser sequences, pyrotechnics, streamer cannons, dancers and stunning SFX that lit up the skyline.
Even three and a half hours could not capture the vast depth of Singh’s repertoire.
To close, he performed ‘Sapphire’, his new collaboration with Ed Sheeran. Stadium curfews cut the set slightly short, but 50,000 voices ended the night united in song.
This milestone followed his 2024 sold-out O2 Arena concert, where 20,000 fans were stunned by a surprise duet of ‘Perfect’ with Sheeran.
With over 151 million Spotify followers, Arijit Singh is now the most-followed artist globally, surpassing Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
His Tottenham triumph confirmed him as not only India’s most celebrated voice but also a true global music phenomenon.
