The first ex-wife of the late Aamir Liaquat, Bushra Iqbal, has called for Dania Shah to face punishment for her alleged actions.
Dania was Aamir’s third wife and she was accused of leaking private videos of her late husband.
Following her arrest, Bushra Iqbal has now discussed the matter.
According to Bushra: “Aamir was not at fault. He suffered immense injustice.”
She went on to say that everyone is glad that the late TV host is finally getting justice.
Bushra stated that Dania Shah ought to be punished for leaking private footage of Aamir.
Dania was remanded in custody for 14 days after a local Karachi court rejected the FIA’s request for her physical remand in connection with the posting of intimate footage of her husband online.
Bushra Iqbal said: “Such girls should be punished and this case should become an example for everyone to understand that the law exists in Pakistan too.”
She continued by saying that people responsible for sharing private footage online out of revenge would learn from her experience.
Bushra added that given the nature of the videos, “there is no way anyone else is involved in making those [videos] as no third person could be present in such a scenario”.
Speaking on the alleged legal split between the television host and Dania Shah, Bushra said:
“Firstly, she was legally divorced; therefore, she shouldn’t claim that she is Aamir’s wife.
“And even if we assume that she is his wife, like Dania’s mother claims about the property worth crores, it means that their family is still latched onto the money.”
Reflecting on Dania’s family’s motives, Bushra said:
“A person has gone to the grave and you’re still concerned about the money.”
Despite being his ex-wife, Bushra said she is not obligated to reply to inquiries about defending Aamir.
“I am Aamir’s ex-wife.
“I have nothing to do with his property neither legally nor based on the Shariah, and nor do I want it.
“Only my Lord knows why I’m doing this. I’m not answerable to each and everyone.”
Speaking about the compromising videos Buhsra said that everyone is sad at the injustice faced by Aamir.
“Everyone misses Aamir.
“Nude videos of a talented and patriotic person were made viral.”
“Dania was not his girlfriend. He brought her as his wife and gave her respect. He took her to morning shows which led to her popularity.”
She continued by claiming that Dania had posted videos on YouTube in which she threatened to damage his honour and go viral if he didn’t get a divorce from her.
“He was being blackmailed by Dania’s filing for divorce and they gave him a list for what they needed”
