Dania is accused of leaking intimate videos of her late spouse
Dania Shah, the ex-wife and widow of the late Aamir Liaquat Hussain, was arrested for allegedly leaking obscene material online.
It is alleged that she recorded and published explicit videos of the deceased talk show host online.
Salma Bibi, the mother of Dania Shah, claimed that police officers “barged” into their home and detained her daughter.
The third former wife of the deceased talk show host was reportedly transported to Saddar Police Station in Karachi.
But Salma said her daughter is not there.
She said: “I have come to the police station, but they are not telling me anything and Dania isn’t present here as well.”
Salma also said that her family is currently being “punished” for apparently taking Aamir’s fortune from him.
A non-profit group had asked the FIA’s Cybercrime Wing to take action against Dania Shah months before the arrest.
Dania is accused of leaking intimate videos of her late spouse from earlier in 2022 that showed him doing drugs and being nude in bed.
On June 9, Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain suddenly passed away unexpectedly.
This was months after the tapes were posted and went viral.
Following the leak, Aamir went on the record to discuss the event and said that he was compelled to flee the country when “indecent” footage circulated on social media.
He had spoken out in the detailed video as he recited some verses from the Holy Quran.
“These people are paying heed to a 14-15-year-old.
“Anyone who consumes alcohol cannot recite these verses.
“Everyone has buried my reputation in the mud over a girl whose interviews should not have taken in the first place.
“She filed for divorce and I was complying with it.”
“All these new YouTubers and so-called journalists who have come forward [to give coverage to Dania] have done great injustice to Pakistan.”
He was later discovered dead at his Karachi residence after allegedly experiencing mental stress and depression.
After his third wife filed for divorce and made severe accusations against him, and the vehement internet trolling, this seemingly explains the reasoning for Aamir’s distress.
The country was startled by the former talk show host’s passing.
However, conspiracy theorists believed foul play was involved due to his sudden death.
Even though a citizen’s plea to exhume and conduct a postmortem was accepted by the Sindh High Court, nothing came of it since the court overturned the judgement.
