Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are two of Bollywood’s biggest stars, having been in the film industry since the 1990s.
However, they have hardly been seen together onscreen.
When it comes to films, the pair worked together in Dil To Pagal Hai.
The film saw Rahul (SRK) falling in love with Madhuri Dixit’s Pooja, however, Ajay (Akshay) was also in love with her.
The Yash Chopra directorial was one of the biggest hits of 1997.
Apart from that, there have only been cameo appearances.
SRK made a special appearance in Akshay’s 2007 comedy Heyy Babyy while Akshay played himself in Shah Rukh’s Om Shanti Om.
An old photo from the set of Dil To Pagal Hai is now doing the rounds, showing Akshay and Shah Rukh playing cricket.
The photo was shared by a Shah Rukh Khan fan account and it quickly went viral.

Akshay is seen batting while SRK is the wicketkeeper during the friendly match.
The trip down memory lane had fans wondering if the two superstars will ever work together again.
Shah Rukh has responded to the queries. When asked why he and Akshay had not done more films together, he said:
“What do I say to this? I don’t wake up as early as him.
“I go to sleep when Akshay is waking up. His day starts early.
“By the time I start working, he is packing up and going home. So, he can put in more hours of work.
“I’m a nocturnal person. Not many people are fond of shooting at night like me.”
Shah Rukh Khan admitted he would like to work with Akshay but said that if they did work together, they would never meet on the sets.
SRK continued: “It will be fun to act with Akshay.
“We will never meet on the set. He’ll be leaving the set and I’ll be coming in.”
“I would like to work like Akshay and with him, but our timings won’t match.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh is currently filming Pathan.
The film is set to release in 2022 and it marks his first lead role since 2018’s Zero.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has several films that are set to release.
The likes of Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj and Bachchan Pandey have seen several delays in production and post-production due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Akshay also has Ram Setu in the pipeline.
