Mahnoor Baloch has opened up about how she got into acting, revealing that her husband’s family played a part.

She is an American-born Canadian Pakistani actress, film director and former model, who is widely known for her youthful looks onscreen.

Mahnoor fell in love at the young age of 15 and got married not long after to her husband Hameed Siddiqui.

Their marriage has been a happy affair and they have a daughter together named Laila Hameed.

Usually a highly private person about her life, Mahnoor Baloch recently appeared on a popular talk show Hasna Mana Hai, hosted by Tabish Hashmi and shared information about her life with the host and eager audience.

Mahnoor was introduced to acting by Sultana Siddiqui.

But on the talk show, she revealed that Sultana Siddiqui is her husband’s aunt.

Mahnoor described how Sultana persisted in pushing her to pursue a career as an actress.

The actress explained that at the time, she was a young, newlywed woman and had no indication about what direction her life was going to take.

As a result, Sultana urged her to get into acting.

Mahnoor Baloch admitted she was so scared of being on camera that she fled the set and even started hiding to avoid having to perform.

However, Sultana Siddiqi persisted and presented her.

Mahnoor also claimed that her in-laws supported Sultana Siddiqui’s proposal for her to become an actor because her father-in-law adored and seriously considered his sister.

She eventually took Sultana’s advice and made sure she made a name for herself.

Mahnoor Baloch made her debut in the hit drama serial Marvi in 1993, which was directed by Sultana.

She went on to star in other TV shows such as Noor Bano, Mehar Bano aur Shah Bano and Ladies Park.

Her role as Falak in Talafi landed her a ‘Best Actress’ honour at the Lux Style Awards.

Mahnoor also starred in the 2013 American film Torn, which is about two mothers who are grieving over their dead teenage sons and then begin to wonder if the other’s son wasn’t responsible for their child’s death.

On Hasna Mana Hai, the 52-year-old was asked why she has taken a step back from acting.

She replied that there were no strong roles being produced that she wants to take on, but if the right role came along she would take the opportunity.
