Bushra Iqbal paid tribute to her ex-husband Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain on his first death anniversary.
On June 9, 2022, the Pakistani media industry was shocked to the core when news broke that Aamir had unexpectedly passed away. He was 49 years old.
Aamir was found dead at his home in Karachi.
It is believed that Aamir felt discomfort on June 8, 2022, but refused to go to the hospital.
His first wife Bushra Iqbal, with whom he has two children, remembered the late personality on his first death anniversary.
On Twitter, she stated that the pain was still as fresh as it was on the day of his passing.
She tweeted: “Punishment for those responsible for his suffering and torture is ongoing and will continue until Aamir gets justice.
“The biggest court is yet to be faced.”
Before his death, Aamir Liaquat Hussain was reported to be suffering from depression, brought on by the controversy surrounding his personal life.
He also faced a barrage of online abuse from supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters because he spoke against Imran Khan, further adding to his stress.
Days before his death, Aamir expressed his wish to leave Pakistan after the breakdown of his third marriage to Dania Shah, following a leak of his personal videos.
Videos showed Aamir roaming around his bedroom naked.
Dania filmed the videos and argued that he wanted to be recorded.
She denied leaking the private videos.
Bushra had previously called for Dania to be punished for leaking the videos.
Aamir Liaquat Hussain began his television career when he became associated with GEO TV in 2001, and became host of the religious programme Aalim Online, which was a huge success.
In 2010, he left GEO TV and joined other private channels where he hosted a number of Ramadan transmissions alongside a few game shows.
His personal life was a topic of discussion.
In 2018, he revealed he married Syeda Tuba Anwar whilst still being married to Bushra Iqbal.
Both marriages eventually ended and in February 2022, he married his third wife Dania Shah.
He faced backlash due to the massive age gap between the pair. Aamir was 49 while Dania was believed to be 18 at the time.
Aamir later explained that in his opinion, it is better to marry a younger woman because the husband is able to care for them and teach her properly.
