"He seems more like an income tax officer."
Warda Malik has publicly criticised podcast host Rehan Tariq for what she described as disrespectful and humiliating treatment during his show.
Speaking to MYK News, she recounted her experience on RTS, aired on 24 News HD, where she appeared as a guest.
Malik said that Tariq invited her under the pretext of respectful engagement but allowed a hostile audience to ask degrading questions.
She told the reporter: “My message to him is: whenever you invite someone to your show, don’t degrade them or make them feel embarrassed.”
According to her, the audience asked harsh questions about her career as a TikToker, which she felt were inappropriate and humiliating.
Malik explained that Tariq did not intervene and instead justified the audience’s behaviour, treating their questions as if they were his own.
She further criticised the host, saying: “Even my friends have refused to attend. I wouldn’t go even if he offered me 5 lakh.”
During the podcast, Rehan Tariq showed Malik’s TikTok video dancing to ‘Tauba Tauba’ and questioned whether her work on social media was morally acceptable.
Malik defended her career, saying she does not believe her content is wrong.
The TikToker added that she uses social media to support her family financially.
She emphasised that her income is earned through her work.
Malik said that she is not compromising her dignity nor selling her body to earn money.
Social media users have widely supported Warda Malik, praising her courage for confronting what they called unfair and indecent questioning.
Many viewers expressed that Tariq’s approach reflected a broader societal problem where people judge others for unconventional career choices.
Several influencers and actors also publicly sided with Malik, condemning Tariq’s conduct and defending her right to earn through social media platforms.
The incident sparked debate online about the ethics of public interviews and how guests, especially women, are treated on talk shows.
Critics noted that hosts should maintain decorum and prevent audiences from humiliating guests during live recordings, emphasising professional responsibility.
Warda Malik advised others to avoid appearing on Tariq’s show, warning that similar treatment could happen to anyone who trusts his platform.
She said: “I advise everyone else not to go either. He seems more like an income tax officer than a host.”
The backlash against Rehan Tariq continues, with viewers questioning why hosts believe they have the authority to judge and humiliate creators publicly.
