“That’s when I knew we were building something powerful.”
Singer-songwriter Sunidhi Nayak is stepping into bold territory with ‘Palabe Kothay’, her latest music video.
The music video was released on June 26, 2025.
Rooted in personal experiences of depression, anxiety, and emotional dependency, the track blends pop-electronic beats with traditional Bengali elements.
It features deeply emotional yet modern musical elements.
The project features actor Sariful Razz and is directed by Adnan Al Rajeev.
It’s the first collaboration between the three, and Sunidhi described the process as transformative.
She said: “I’ve never worked with Razz or Adnan before. But the moment I sent the song to Adnan bhai, he responded with a stunning storyboard.
“That’s when I knew we were building something powerful.”
‘Palabe Kothay’ is co-composed by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, Adit Rahman, and Sunidhi herself.
The lyrics, written by Arnob, dive into the inner chaos of someone trapped in an emotional spiral. “
Sunidhi said: “Addiction doesn’t always mean drugs. It can be about obsession, about toxic relationships, anything that takes control of you emotionally.”
The music video has gone viral on social media and it paints a haunting image.
Pills are scattered on a table, lamps are knocked over, and Sunidhi’s character is shown in visible distress.
She chases after a man (Sariful Razz), who appears and disappears like a hallucination.
The line between reality and obsession blurs. She tries to hold on, but he slips through.
According to Sunidhi, she underwent nearly three weeks of rehearsals to embody the character fully.
She said: “This wasn’t like acting in a drama or web series. It was my story, my emotions. That made it easier in some ways, but also intense.
“Razz being such a strong actor helped bring out the best in me. He was present in every moment.”
Musically, the track experiments with electronic structure while keeping subtle nods to tradition.
Sunidhi explained:
“It’s very modern, but I added four sitar notes to keep a Bengali soul in it.”
She believes this fusion hasn’t been done before for a Bengali song.
Ultimately, ‘Palabe Kothay’ is more than just a music video. It’s a reflection of what it means to confront inner demons, and the difficulty of letting go.
Through raw storytelling and vulnerable performance, Sunidhi Nayak offers a glimpse into healing as an ongoing journey.
