“Where’s the dislike button?”
Rapper NseeB recently faced criticism for a comment he made about turbans during an interview.
In a viral video clip from the interview, NseeB suggested that wearing a turban could lead to attracting girls, fame, and financial success.
This statement caused significant backlash, with many demanding an apology for what they saw as insensitivity towards Sikh culture.
In response, NseeB posted a live video on Instagram to clarify his remarks.
He explained that his words had been misunderstood due to his use of English, which some found offensive.
He emphasised that his intention was not to diminish the turban’s significance to superficial matters like popularity or money but rather to convey its deeper meaning and the respect it commands.
NseeB highlighted how wearing a turban elevates one’s character and garners respect, acknowledging artists like Tarsem Jassar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Sidhu Moose Wala for promoting the turban globally.
He also mentioned that the turban represents sacrifice and martyrdom and that the love he receives from fans is partly due to his turban.
Towards the video’s end, NseeB humbly referred to himself as “very low and the worst.”
