“So nice to see old legends back on screen"
After months of eager anticipation, new Pakistani entertainment channel, Green Entertainment has finally launched.
Monday, July 10, 2023, saw the channel debut its long-awaited dramas and it was Jeevan Nagar that took the spotlight.
Jeevan Nagar tells the story of Babbar Shah, who takes it upon himself to protect the innocent people of his town, against ruffians.
The first episode gained much praise from viewers as they expressed their delight.
One fan wrote: “After ages, I watched a drama without skipping.
“The acting, the dialogue, the direction, took me back to the time when we produced good content. Let’s hope it sticks to being good as it progresses.”
Another added: “Finally Punjabi casts and Punjab-based dramas are back.”
A third wrote: “This is going to be a blockbuster. Mark my words. It’s going to change the definition of drama serials in Pakistan.”
Many fans were delighted to see veteran actor Sohail Ahmed back on their screens and shared their appreciation for this move.
One person said: “So nice to see old legends back on screen with the same ambience and beautiful direction.”
The drama is written by Awais Ahmed, produced by Qaiser Ali and Imran Raza, and includes a talented cast consisting of Kashif Mehmood, Sohail Ahmed and Rabia Butt.
Jeevan Nagar appears to be another blockbuster release for director Kashif Nisar, who has already directed many popular drama serials.
These include Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, Lashkara and Darr Si Jati Hai Sila.
Green Entertainment also features Kabli Pulao, which stars Sabeena Farooq and Mohammed Ehteshamuddin.
The story revolves around Haji Mushtaq who experiences the notion of love for the first time at the age of 40.
This drama is written by Zafar Mairaj and directed by Kashif Nisar.
Kabli Pulao has been compared to hit shows from the past and the first episode has been praised by viewers, who expressed their gratitude for the refreshing content.
One viewer wrote:

Green Entertainment has been in the production stage for a long time and the release date postponed numerous times.
Joining the list of dramas will also be serials such as Tere Husn Ke Naam, Honeymoon and Shanas.
The channel promises a range of fresh content consisting of strong yet different storylines, and fresh narratives.
