"Our lives are full of problems."
Bangladeshi actor Mosharraf Karim is set to appear in a new avatar, playing a stand-up comedian in Dimlight.
The Chorki Original film, directed by Saraf Ahmed Zibon, follows Karim’s character as he earns his living by making people laugh.
Dimlight is produced under the Chabial banner and is part of Chorki’s Ministry of Love project exploring complex human relationships.
Chorki’s verified Facebook page first teased Karim’s return on November 20, 2025, asking audiences:
“Mosharraf Karim is returning in yet another new avatar! But with what?”
Another post on November 23, 2025, hinted at the film’s central theme, reading:
“Life is a joke, and the biggest joke is the midlife crisis.”
The official poster, released on November 25, 2025, confirmed the focus on midlife struggles, captioned:
“Midlife crisis—oops, Dimlight crisis!”
Director Saraf Ahmed Zibon explained that Karim’s character experiences a midlife crisis, symbolically represented as the Dimlight crisis.
Zibon, who also acts in the film, said: “In extremely bright light or complete darkness, nothing is visible.
“Balanced light shows everything clearly.”
He added: “Our lives are full of problems, some visible, others hidden.
“Dimlight makes audiences understand those unseen issues in simple terms.”
Karim reflected on his role, saying: “Life is covered in layers—from sugar, toothpaste, or school fees to small daily routines that hide relationships.”
“These layers gradually cover love and understanding. Sometimes, it takes a jolt to rediscover the true essence of life. The moral of life is calm and composed.
“One must navigate challenges while maintaining perspective and emotional clarity.”

Supporting actors Tanzika Amin and Parsa Evana praised the story’s relatability and modern approach to everyday struggles and humour.
Amin said: “I felt this story is timely and needed to be told. These are events familiar to the audience—it is life itself.”
Parsa Evana, making his Chorki debut, added:
“It’s a fresh story with confusion, humour, and crisis, yet relatable. Life is portrayed in a straightforward way.”
Karim’s character combines humour and reflection, presenting audiences with comedy intertwined with the challenges of middle age and relationships.
The film emphasises emotional awareness and perspective, highlighting how laughter can help people navigate difficult personal and social circumstances.
Dimlight promises to balance lighthearted comedy with thoughtful storytelling, showcasing Karim’s versatility and depth as one of Bangladesh’s leading actors.
Fans are excited to witness Mosharraf Karim’s comedic timing and unique portrayal, eager to see how he humanises the midlife crisis experience.
