"From our prayers, to our arms, our divine blessing, our princess"
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have revealed their daughter’s name four months after welcoming her in Mumbai.
Their baby girl was born on July 15, with the couple confirming her arrival a day later in a joint Instagram announcement that drew widespread attention.
The couple has now shared the name they have chosen for their daughter: Saraayah Malhotra.
In a joint Instagram post, a photo showed Saraayah’s feet being held by Sidharth and Kiara against a green backdrop.
The post read: “From our prayers, to our arms, our divine blessing, our princess, Saraayah Malhotra.”
The image went viral as fellow celebrities posted their reactions in the comments section.
Karan Johar wrote: “My love and blessings always…”
Shilpa Shetty posted: “Beautiful.”
Athiya Shetty, Varun Dhawan and others wished the couple well with love heart emojis.
Others wondered how they came up with the name.
The name Saraayah has roots in both Arabic and Hebrew traditions. It is connected to the Arabic word “saraya”, which means “palace” or “noble dwelling”, suggesting elegance and dignity.
It is also linked to the Hebrew name Sarah, which translates as “princess” or “noblewoman”, while the suffix “-yah” is often associated with divine meaning in Hebrew naming customs.
These origins give the name a blend of cultural influences and symbolic depth. It has gained modest but steady use among parents in Western countries looking for names that are distinctive yet timeless, and its smooth, melodic structure contributes to its appeal.

Kiara and Sidharth announced their daughter’s birth through a statement shared on July 16.
They said:
“We are so grateful for all the love and wishes; our hearts are truly full.”
They asked fans and the media to respect their space during this new chapter, adding:
“As we take our first steps into this new journey of parenthood, we hope to enjoy it intimately as a family. It would mean a lot to us if this special time could stay private.”
The couple, who married in 2023, have largely kept their personal life out of the spotlight despite their high-profile careers.
Their decision to reveal their daughter’s name months after her birth reflects their preference for a measured, private approach to major milestones, even as the announcement continues to generate interest across the entertainment industry.
