“We met right after that.”
Sidharth Malhotra opened up about his first meeting with wife Kiara Advani, revealing it happened during a particularly bold moment.
The actor shared the story while appearing on Lilly Singh’s show, Shame Less with Lilly Singh.
Sidharth revealed that their paths first crossed on the set of Lust Stories (2018).
He had gone to meet Karan Johar when he ran into Kiara, who was shooting her famous orgasm scene at the time.
He recalled: “We met right after that.”
The Student of the Year actor explained that he had heard about the scene from Karan but arrived only after it was filmed.
Sidharth continued: “I didn’t want there to be for that, but I knew what she was up to because I’d heard the story from Karan before, but again, it was the intent; the hearts were in the right place.
“The presentation of it is funny because it sometimes is, and it’s a director’s take, but I think the heart was in the right place.
“Kudos to her to come into that… I think she was very bold in her choices.”
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani went on to get married and they are now set to welcome their first child together.
Speaking about married life, Sidharth reflected on the changes it has brought him.
“It has opened up my eyes.”
Having lived alone in Mumbai for years, he shared how Kiara’s presence has influenced him:
“Being with her has been a great influence to another outlook towards life, work, family.
“She’s very family-oriented, and her ethics and morals are in the right place, and that’s something I respect and admire.”
During the conversation, Lilly asked Sidharth for his opinion on what it means to be a man.
He replied:
“Exactly, it is that you start taking responsibility for your own actions.”
“You start being more accountable and sensitive towards what you are saying, how you are dealing with your family members, your partners, and that’s what I wish and hope that as a society and as known people we can influence people in a correct way.
“Parents can be conscious as to what are they really feeding their kids, in terms of culture, in terms of being examples; do they understand the value of being in society, having people and relationships.”
