“That’s what makes him the best."
Mosharraf Karim made a surprise appearance at the premiere of Chokkor 302 on March 29, 2025, at Centre Point Star Cineplex in Dhaka.
The veteran actor arrived in a wheelchair with a bandaged leg, leaving guests stunned.
At first, many believed it was a stunt for the film’s promotion.
However, both Mosharraf and director Sharaf Ahmed Jibon confirmed that it was not part of any campaign.
Mosharraf had recently undergone surgery due to a boil on his leg.
His commitment to the film was evident as he still chose to attend the premiere.
Sharaf Ahmed Jibon spoke about Mosharraf’s dedication, saying:
“Mosharraf bhai underwent leg surgery. Even then, we never imagined he would attend the premiere. He came purely out of dedication.
“That’s what makes him the best. That’s what makes him Mosharraf Karim. As a director, I can say it’s truly rare to find such a dedicated actor in this country.”
The premiere, which marked the launch of Sharaf Ahmed Jibon’s Eid release, was attended by a host of notable celebrities.
Among them were Afsana Mimi, Bijori Barkatullah, Mehazabien Chowdhury, Rukaiya Jahan Chamak, Aisha Khan, and cast members of Chokkor 302.
After the screening, Mosharraf Karim shared his thoughts with the press.
He said: “Only those who watched the film tonight can say how it turned out. But I can say this, everyone delivered great performances.
“Jibon extracted the best from each actor.
“Several new artists also worked on this project, and they didn’t fall short in any way. I have high hopes for them. I believe the audience will enjoy the film.”
Mehazabien Chowdhury also shared her thoughts after watching the film:
“It’s because of the audience’s growing interest that thriller films are now being made in Bangladesh.
“We’re seeing this genre move beyond OTT platforms to the big screen as well. Chokkor was a great example of that.”
She praised the performances and mentioned the film’s meaningful message and a surprise twist at the end.
“Mosharraf bhai and the entire cast delivered strong performances. The film also carries a meaningful message, and there’s a surprise at the end from the director.
“Altogether, it turned out to be a wonderful film. My thanks to the Chokkor team for such a gift.”
According to Sharaf Ahmed Jibon, the film is rooted in human relationships and is a reflection of the country’s story:
“It’s our story, a story of this country. At its core, it’s about human relationships. If viewers can connect with the story and its characters, they will enjoy the film.”
The teaser for Chokkor 302 offered a glimpse into a murder mystery that explores darker facets of life.
