"I think it would be a great experience to be around that"
The new batch of Big Brother contestants were unveiled and Izaaz Miah is representing the British South Asian community.
Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the live launch took place on October 6, 2024, and showed the new housemates taking up residence in the UK’s most iconic house.
Expect gripping nominations, elaborate tasks, live evictions as well as new twists and turns.
The viewers once again have the final say, voting throughout the series and ultimately deciding who will leave the experience with a life-changing cash prize of £100,000.
Among the 16 contestants is Izaaz, a 29-year-old estate agent who is originally from Swansea but now lives in London.
He is a single father to a five-year-old boy and admitted that he doesn’t have much luck when it comes to love as he ends up being “friend-zoned nine times out of 10 times”.
On why he signed up for Big Brother, the “proud Welshman” stated:
“I want to go through the experience of going into the house around a group of different and diverse people – backgrounds, cultures, everything.
“I think it would be a great experience to be around that as I’ve never done that.
“As I get older I really want to experience different things and I thought this would be the right time to do it and fortunately for me I have been picked – I’m quite chuffed, I won’t lie!”
Izaaz says he believes he will bring a “lot of happiness and kindness” to the Big Brother house.
He elaborated: “I reckon I’ll be there for a lot of people.
“I’m not the type of person to fall out with anyone and if I did, I’d make up for it. I think I’ll bring a lot of positivity to the group.”
Although Izaaz said he would be fine interacting with his housemates, he may find himself clashing with some of them.
“I might be a bit straightforward. I say it is as it is.
“For example, if someone isn’t doing something then I’ll tell that person instead of beating around the bush.”
If he wins the show, Izaaz said the prize money will go towards his son’s future.
“I have a five-year-old son. If I was single, I’d probably spend it on enjoying a few things.
“£100,000 is a lot of money and a good amount of money to try and stabilise a better future. I would use it to help my son as he grows older.
“If I do end up having more kids or a family later on – it’s sustainability for the family later on.”
Big Brother continues on ITV2 and ITVX.
