"How disgusting is this?"
Police have arrested an Indian man after he was caught on camera spitting on rotis before placing them inside a tandoor.
The viral incident was said to have taken place at a wedding in Aroma Garden, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
The man, identified as Sohail, was reportedly one of the cooks at the wedding.
Sohail was spotted carrying out the disgusting act by one of the guests. The guest then decided to secretly film him.
In the video, Sohail is seen picking up the roti dough and flattening it with his hands.
As he is about to place it down, he moves his head near the roti, appearing to spit on it before placing it into the tandoor.
He repeats the same steps with the remaining dough.
Meanwhile, unsuspecting wedding guests are seen enjoying themselves in the background.
A user named Anamika Jain Amber posted the footage on Twitter.
She called for Meerut Police to take action against the Indian man.
The video went viral and naturally, viewers were disgusted by the man’s actions.

One netizen from Hyderabad called for CCTV to be present in all areas where food is prepared.
“How disgusting is this? Hyderabad City Police sir we should have CCTV cameras for every bawarchi/kitchen where these fellows make food items.
“I’m sure in Hyderabad most of the people are doing this where they make food on occasions hence it’s in need to monitor these people at any cost.”
“How dare this guy spit on food. He should be punished severely.”
Other users directed the police to act against Sohail.
Some netizens were angry at the man’s actions, especially when the world is in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, some people questioned whether he was spitting on the food or not.
One person thought he may have been blowing excess flour.
“He might be blowing off the flour. Not sure if he is really spitting…Giving him the benefit of the doubt.”
Another person had the same belief: “Is he spitting or blowing?”
The matter attracted the attention of Meerut Police and they issued a statement:
“The station in-charge of Partapur has been conveyed to launch necessary action or investigation in connection with the case.”
The police later revealed that Sohail was arrested and said that he was cooking at a wedding that had taken place on February 16, 2021.
