"There is a baby on its way."
Yami Gautam excited fans when she revealed that she is expecting her first child with her husband Aditya Dhar.
The couple tied the knot in Himachal Pradesh on June 4, 2021.
Aditya is a filmmaker known for directing Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). The sets of the film was where he met Yami.
He has also written the upcoming film Article 370, which stars Yami. The duo announced the upcoming arrival of their baby during the tailer launch of the film.
Aditya said: “This film is a family affair. My brother was there, my wife was there and there is a baby on its way.
“It was an amazing time, the way the film happened, the way we got to know about the baby.”
Yami Gautam delved into the experience of her pregnancy and talked about what it was like for her to shoot the film while expecting a child:
“It was mentally draining. I could write thesis on it.
“There are so many questions, the firsts are always challenging.
“If you ask me about motherhood and everything coming together, I really don’t know what I would have done had Aditya not been there by my side, and Lokesh bhaiyaa, everybody.
“There was a rigorous training that was involved for the film.
“You want to be cautious, careful and I am thankful to all the doctors who were supervising this secretly.
“We were mostly left with the talking portions (by the time I was expecting a baby) so we could manage.
“But this felt surreal, because the baby was also a part of it.
“Some of the inspiration also came from how I saw my mother work her way through.”
For any married couple, expecting their first child is an unforgettable milestone in the relationship. This is great news for Yami Gautam and her fans.
In a previous interview, Yami spoke about how she knew that Aditya would be the right husband for her.
She said: “You just know it in your gut. It’s not something that you can really describe.
“You just know it. When you start understanding the person’s value system, and what family he belongs to.”
“You don’t have to have similarities or share common things in your interests, but have similarities in your value system and in your ethics.
“And we share that a lot. I have a lot of respect for Aditya and I had a lot of respect for him as a professional and as a person.
“I respect him for who he is.”
Meanwhile, their forthcoming film Article 370 is scheduled to be released on February 23, 2024.
Yami Gautam will play Zooni Haksar in the film.
