"we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding"
On June 4, 2021, Yami Gautam surprised her fans when she revealed that she got married to film writer Aditya Dhar.
It was an intimate ceremony that was attended by immediate family members.
Since getting married, the actress has been gradually sharing photos from the ceremony.
One set of photos showed the couple at their wedding venue, surrounded by photographers and their family.
Yami was seen in a red saree with gold detailing while Aditya wore a white sherwani.
Other pictures showed the actress showing off her bangles and anklets.
In a joint message, the couple announced:
“In your light, I learn to love – Rumi.
“With the blessings of our family, we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony today.
“Being very private people, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our immediate family.
“As we embark on the journey of love and friendship, we seek all your blessings and good wishes.
“Love, Yami and Aditya.”
Following the announcement, friends and colleagues sent messages of congratulations.
Hrithik Roshan wrote: “Huge congratulations.”
Vaani Kapoor posted a heart emoji and wrote: “Congratulations.”
Dia Mirza, who also surprised everyone when she got married in February 2021, said:
“Congratulations Yami and Aditya. Lots of love and best wishes to a wonderful journey ahead!”
Outspoken actress Kangana Ranaut also commented on the secret wedding, praising Yami’s beauty and saying she looked “divine”.
Yami Gautam also gave fans a glimpse of her mehendi ceremony. She wore a yellow suit with her hair styled in a plait while Aditya sported a navy blue outfit.
In an Instagram post, she wrote:
“O dear one, why worry? What is meant for you will always, always find you – Lalleshwari.”
Yami showed off her simple mehendi design on her hands while she looked at her husband-to-be.
The ceremony looked to have taken place in the veranda of their home.
Yami’s sister Surilie applied turmeric to her face as part of the ceremony.
In a post, she wrote: “Love Light and Happiness #yamiadityawedding #mehendi #love #family #blessings #mybeautifulsister.”
Yami’s Ginny Weds Sunny co-star Vikrant Massey commented:
“Pure and pious like Radhe Maa.”
Yami was part of Aditya’s directorial debut Uri: The Surgical Strike.
In the 2019 film, Yami played an intelligence officer while Vicky Kaushal played a commander.
At the time, Yami said of Aditya:
“Aditya’s passion about the film is infectious and the amount of extensive research he has done is amazing.
“I am really thrilled to be part of this film. This is the first time I am playing a role like this.
“I’ve been looking to do roles like this that represent the strength and courage of today’s girls.”
On the work front, Yami will next be seen in Bhoot Police alongside Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez.
