"Is such nonsense allowed in the name of entertainment?"
A video of an Indian couple taking a bath on a scooter in the middle of a road in Maharashtra is making rounds on the internet.
The video of the incident that took place in Thane near Mumbai was shared widely on Twitter.
The police have shared it with the traffic department for “necessary action”.
The man and woman can be seen in the video taking a bath while sitting on a scooter in the middle of the road.
As other commuters looked on, the woman was seen with a bucket in front of her, splashing water on the man and herself.
Later in the same footage, the man and woman can be seen doing the same while riding the scooter.
The caption of the video reads: “This is Ulhasnagar. Is such nonsense allowed in the name of entertainment?
“This happened on the busy Ulhasnagar Sec-17 main signal.
“Request to take strict action including deletion of social media content to avoid others doing more nonsense in public.”
Thane City Police took notice of the video and responded in Marathi to the post.
The police department said: “Your information has been reported to Traffic Control Room, Thane for necessary action.”

An Ulhasnagar police station official said a case has been registered against the man and woman who feature in the video.
The Indian couple is likely to face legal repercussions for their actions, including charges related to public indecency and endangering public safety.
Road safety experts have highlighted the serious risks involved in such irresponsible behaviour.
Riding a two-wheeler without proper protective gear, let alone bathing while riding, can endanger the lives of the couple as well as other commuters on the road.
Such actions can lead to accidents, injuries, or even fatalities.
The incident has also raised questions about public decency and etiquette.
Critics argue that engaging in intimate activities in public spaces not only violates social norms but also sets a bad example for others, particularly impressionable youngsters who may witness such behaviour.
The incident serves as a reminder of the power of social media in spreading and amplifying unconventional or controversial incidents.
It also highlights the need for increased awareness and education regarding road safety and responsible behaviour in public spaces.
As the video continues to circulate online, it remains to be seen how the authorities will handle the case and what lessons will be learned from this bizarre incident.
