"I was shivering."
Sania Mirza has shared new details about her life after divorce and the difficult emotional challenges she faced privately.
She revealed these experiences during a conversation with Farah Khan on her YouTube show Serving It Up with Sania.
The discussion focused on parenting, emotional strain, and the decisions separated parents must make for their children’s long-term well-being.
Sania explained that parents must evaluate whether remaining together creates a healthier environment or deepens emotional harm for children.
She said that children sense tension quickly, even when parents pretend everything is fine within the household.
Sania stressed that pretending happiness rarely protects a child because they recognise emotional imbalance without any explanation.
This led her to describe a frightening moment shortly after her separation from Shoaib Malik when she suffered a severe panic attack.
She recalled preparing for a live show and suddenly feeling unable to breathe or control her shaking hands.
Sania said she believed she would not manage the broadcast because her emotions were overwhelming her completely.
At that moment, Farah Khan arrived on the set after learning that Sania was experiencing serious distress.
Sania revealed that if Farah had not appeared that day, she would have cancelled the show entirely.
She said: “I was shivering.”
“And if you had not come there, I wouldn’t have done that show.”
She also shared the exact words Farah spoke to her during that moment of deep panic and confusion.
Farah told her: “No matter what, you are doing this show.”
She explained that she left her own shoot immediately when she heard Sania was frightened and struggling to stand.
Farah added: “I got so scared. I have never seen you get a panic attack.”
She said she rushed to Sania without changing her clothes.
Sania expressed that this support helped her gather strength and complete the live show despite intense anxiety.
The filmmaker responded on the program by acknowledging how difficult single motherhood can become after an emotional separation.
Farah said: “Now you are a single mother. I am sure there is nothing more difficult than that.”
This incident offered insight into Sania’s emotional recovery while balancing professional duties with the demands of single motherhood.
She said that choosing the right environment for her child remains her biggest priority and guiding motivation daily.
Sania Mirza added that honesty about difficult experiences may help others understand that vulnerability carries its own form of strength.
