Is Sania Mirza marrying Mohammed Shami?

Rumours are circulating that Sania Mirza is remarrying, this time tying the knot with Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami.

Sania was previously married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.

Meanwhile, Mohammed is separated from Hasin Jahan following a string of allegations, including that he cheated on her and abused her.

Earlier in 2024, fans of both athletes found that the prospect of them getting married would be fascinating and shared their thoughts on social media, calling Sania and Mohammed a “perfect match”.

Rumours were fuelled when an edited image of Sania and Mohammed in wedding attire went viral.

The photo was originally from Sania’s wedding to Shoaib in 2010. But Shoaib’s face was replaced with Mohammed’s.

Amid the persistent rumours, Sania’s father Imran Mirza gave an angry reaction, saying:

“This is all rubbish. She has not even met him.”

Sania Mirza recently embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage, marking a significant personal milestone almost five months after her publicised split from Shoaib Malik.

Sania, who has transitioned into a commentator role, was last seen working as a pundit for the 2024 French Open.

In a heartfelt social media post, Sania shared her hopes and prayers for a transformative experience during Hajj.

She wrote: “As I prepare for this transformative experience, I humbly ask for your forgiveness for any wrongdoings and shortcomings.”

Expressing gratitude and requesting followers to keep her in their thoughts, Sania added:

“I hope to come back as a better human being with a humble heart and stronger Imaan.”

Sania Mirza’s split from Shoaib Malik shocked fans.

Cryptic posts had hinted that there were issues in their marriage, however, no official statement was made.

In January 2024, viral pictures confirmed that Shoaib married for the third time, tying the knot with actress Sana Javed.

On social media, Imran confirmed Sania and Shoaib’s divorce and revealed that they had been separated for a few months.

He tweeted: “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye.

“However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now.

“She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!

“At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy.”
