"everyone is trying to take advantage"
Indian model and actress Gehana Vasisth has slammed Poonam Pandey for her claims against Raj Kundra.
Kundra was arrested on Monday, July 19, 2021, for allegedly producing and distributing pornographic films through mobile apps.
The police believe he is a key conspirator, and he will be in police custody until Friday, July 23, 2021.
Gehana Vasisth is currently out on bail in relation to the same case.
After the news of Raj Kundra’s arrest broke, model Poonam Pandey reacted by revealing her own personal issues with the entrepreneur.
Pandey filed a case against Kundra in 2019 for continuing to use her content after her contract with his firm, Armsprime Media, ended.
His company managed Pandey’s app, which is known for explicit photos and videos of herself.
The model also claimed that her personal phone number was leaked on the app.
Speaking of her own conflicts with Raj Kundra following his arrest, Poonam Pandey said:
“The only thing I’ll add is that I have filed a police complaint in 2019 against Raj Kundra and subsequently registered a case at the honourable high court of Bombay against him for fraud and theft.
“This is a matter of sub judice, hence I would prefer to limit my statements.
“Also, I have full faith in our police and the judicial process.”
According to Poonam Pandey, Raj Kundra threatened her into doing things she did not want to do.
However, she expressed her sympathy towards his wife Shilpa Shetty and their children.
But now, Gehana Vasisth has jumped to defend Kundra, and has criticised Pandey for her claims against him in the process.
Vasisth also accused Pandey of attempting to “take advantage” of Raj Kundra’s current circumstances.
Vasisth said:
“In 2011, Poonam said that she will go nude in the field if India wins. And, she is making nude videos for so many years.
“How can these people say that Raj has put them in the adult industry? They used to make such videos even before Raj launched his company.
“Today, Poonam is not with Raj, she is with her husband.
“With her husband, she makes MMS videos where she shows her private parts.”
“Does Raj tell her to do all this?
“A man is stuck and everyone is trying to take advantage of the situation.”
Following his shocking arrest, Mumbai Police booked Raj Kundra under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act.
