"This man will rock the screens as Hanuman."
Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana: Rise of a Legend was released on November 5, 2026.
The first part of the mythological saga, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, starred Ranbir Kapoor (Rama), Yash (Ravana), Sai Pallavi (Sita), and Ravie Dubey (Lakshman).
However, for many fans, the biggest attraction of the series was Sunny Deol’s addition to the cast as Hanuman.
Hanuman is a monkey character who is the biggest devotee of Rama. In the Ramayana, he is instrumental in many of Rama’s victories and feats.
Brave, strong, and powerful, the character is immensely popular with those who treasure the epic story.
On November 5, 2026, the makers of Ramayana released a new version of the Hanuman Chalisa, scored by AR Rahman.
The clip included vocals by Diljit Dosanjh, Sukhwinder, Shankar Mahadevan, Mohit Chauhan, and Kailash Kher.
It showed a towering figure running across foliage and mountainous terrain, before jumping off a cliff and flying over an ocean.
Although Sunny Deol’s face was not seen, his inimitable voice was heard, as he declared: “Jai Shree Ram!”
In the film, this sequence will appear as a mid-credits scene, introducing Sunny as Hanuman for the first time.
This will be Sunny’s only contribution to the first film. He will appear more prominently in the second instalment of the franchise.
Fans reacted thrillingly to the glimpse of the star as Hanuman.
One fan said: “Sunny Deol’s ‘Jai Shree Ram’ had people screaming in the theatre in the end.
“Boss, this man will rock the screens as Hanuman.”
Another fan wrote: “The theatres are shaking! Sunny Deol’s entry as Lord Hanuman in the Ramayana post-credit scene is pure peak cinema!”
Similarly, a third comment read: “Sunny Deol’s entry as Hanuman was PEAK. WHAT AN ENTRY!!!
“They’ve set the tone for Part Two perfectly. Diwali 2028 is going to shatter every opening record by a massive margin.
“Hanuman is coming. MARK MY WORDS.”
Initially set for a Diwali 2027 release, the second part of the saga has reportedly been postponed to 2028, so that makers can have more time to perfect the film.
