"Ikka brings together everything audiences love."
Netflix has unveiled the first look of its highly anticipated courtroom drama Ikka.
The film brings together Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna for an intense legal thriller.
It also marks Sunny Deol’s first Netflix original and sees him return to the courtroom decades after his iconic lawyer role in Damini.
It is set to premiere on July 10, 2026, and is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra under the production banner of Alchemy Films.
Ikka is built around a high-stakes legal battle where the lines between justice, morality and personal loyalty become blurred.
The film also features Tillotama Shome, Dia Mirza, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor in supporting roles.
At the heart of the story is a celebrated lawyer played by Sunny Deol, who finds himself forced to defend a man from his past.
That man is portrayed by Akshaye Khanna, and their unexpected reunion reopens old wounds while pulling the lawyer into a challenging case.
As the legal battle unfolds, the lawyer must navigate difficult choices while trying to protect his family and uphold his personal principles.
The case soon becomes far more than a courtroom contest, evolving into a deeply personal conflict with life-altering consequences.
Tillotama Shome plays a determined public prosecutor committed to ensuring that justice is served regardless of the personal cost.
Dia Mirza essays the role of a wife and mother struggling to keep her family together as uncertainty grows around their lives.
Speaking about the project, Monika Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, highlighted everything that makes the film stand out.
“Ikka brings together everything audiences love about a great courtroom drama: high stakes, moral complexity and emotional conflict.”
The project also reunites Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna on screen for the first time since the 1997 war classic Border nearly three decades ago.
Director Siddharth P Malhotra revealed that Ikka is a story he has wanted to tell for years and one that holds deep personal significance for him.
