"Tara Singh and Rehman Dakait in a parallel universe..."

The trailer for the upcoming Netflix film, Ikka, was released on June 29, 2026.

It features Sunny Deol as the stoic, unbeatable lawyer Arjun Mehra.

Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna stars as Shouryamann Gaur, the son of a famous industrialist, who has been accused of an attempted murder.

Ikka narrates the story of Mehra, known for fighting for innocent people, becomes Gaur’s defence attorney.

The trailer begins with Mehra declaring: “We don’t fight cases in court to win, but to secure our right.”

Gaur then tells Mehra: “Defend me. Win the case. Become the hero. Life in exchange for life.”

The victim in the case is a young girl named Soma. Appearing for the prosecution is Madhura Banerjee (Tillotama Shome).

Referring to Mehra, Banerjee observes: “When Ikka takes up a case, he doesn’t lose.”

In court, Madhura wears a sling over her arm. Referencing Sunny Deol’s popular dialogue, she says:

“It’s a big case. A two-and-a-half-kilo hand is necessary, right?”

The trailer then shows scenes in the courtroom which depict Mehra and Banerjee asking questions.

Meanwhile, Gaur stands with menacing silence in the witness box.

Dia Mirza’s character tells Gaur in a bedroom: “You can never change.”

Gaur replies: “People who change are the ones who can’t tell the truth.”

Mehra goes on to shout in court: “People have forgotten humanity because of the fear of the police, My Lord!”

Further scenes in the trailer show Mehra appearing to wrestle with his conscience.

Elsewhere, Gaur is told he is a “loser” and “an absolute disgrace”.

Mehra demands to know from Gaur if he killed “her”.

Gaur responds: “I can make a mistake, but I can never commit a crime.”

We then see Mehra slapping Gaur hard across the face.

The trailer ends with Mehra and Gaur in a bar where Mehra tells him: “At least, let me play my ‘ikka’ (ace).”

On YouTube, the trailer received enthusiastic responses from viewers.

One fan commented: “Tara Singh and Rehman Dakait in a parallel universe…”

Another said: “Akshaye Khanna doesn’t need many dialogues to make an impact.

“His expressions and presence do all the talking. What an actor!”

Ikka reunites Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna onscreen after nearly 30 years.

They previously starred together in Border (1997).

Speaking about working with the Dhurandhar star once again, Sunny said:

“We both did Border together, and that’s the first time he was working with me, and we had a very great equation over there because he was Vinod Khanna’s son.

“I met him after so many years. Actually, I had not met him before that. Just imagine the gap, and it was so lovely.

“It was just like going back to the earlier days.”

Divulging Ikka, Sunny added: “It is a story about family, relationships, and the difficult choices life forces you to make.

“Arjun Mehra is a man who believes in doing what is right, but circumstances push him to question everything around him.

“His pain, his anger, his silence, and his fight for what he believes in are what drew me to this character.

“This film is also very special because it marks my first direct-to-streaming release.

“I’m happy that through Netflix, audiences across India and the world will be able to experience Ikka.”

Ikka is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and will premier on Netflix on July 10, 2026.
