"the brand has become an important part of this album."
Charli XCX continues to make waves in fashion and the British singer has now been named the face of Swedish fashion brand Acne Studios.
Known for popularising ‘Brat Girl Summer‘, it seems the trend will be forever as the singer unveiled the brand’s new Spring/Summer 2025 campaign.
Shot by American photographer Talia Chetrit in Los Angeles, Charli XCX strips off and slips into several looks from Acne Studios’ SS25 collection.
In one shot, the singer is in just a pair of white briefs, with a kidney-shaped bag named ‘Bowlina’ carefully positioned to cover her modesty.
Another photo features the topless artist posing in front of a mirror wearing paint-splattered jeans.
Charli XCX also embodies the office siren trend in an oversized tailored jacket, a pair of stiletto court shoes and tiny wireless glasses that are perched on the end of her nose.
The photoshoot hones in on the Brit’s confident style and uncompromising attitude.
On paper, there is some similarity between Charli’s campaign and that of Kylie Jenner’s 2023 shoot.
Kylie was doused in dirty engine oil while in this series, Charli is cast in the role of a car mechanic, posing near a gleaming black vehicle.
Getting Charli onboard for an Acne campaign was seemingly a no-brainer.
The brand created custom looks for Charli XCX’s ‘Sweat Tour’ alongside Troye Sivan.
During the opening night in Michigan in September 2024, Charli channelled goth vibes in a black corset and a bunch of belts cinching at her waist.
She also wore Acne Studios during the promotional tour for her 2024 album Brat and remix follow-up.
Charli XCX said: “I’ve been wearing Acne Studios all my life in my daily life, and the brand has become an important part of this album.
“I wore it while writing the record, and I continue to wear it on stage during my tour.
“Their clothes are simple, cool, and make me feel confident. Working with the Acne Studios team is a dream.”
Jonny Johansson, Acne Studios Creative Director, added:
“We are always drawn to personalities and creative energies unafraid to explore and push boundaries.”
“What’s fascinating about Charli is how she blurs the boundaries between underground and mainstream, merging these worlds rather than keeping them apart.
“She makes pop music but has a decidedly punk side.
“Her influence is like a mood shift: it creates a space where artists can be bolder, and it’s exciting.
“She has the ability to offer a fresh perspective and push beyond limits in a natural way, and that’s why she resonates so well with what we do at Acne Studios.”
