both suspects confessed to supplying drugs to university students.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recently made a breakthrough in Quetta by apprehending two drug dealers near a university.
The successful operation resulted in the seizing of 2 kilograms of crystal meth, commonly known as ice, and 40 ecstasy pills.
The arrests mark a crucial development in the ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug peddlers operating near educational facilities.
ANF officials disclosed that the first suspect, hailing from Pishin, was arrested near a hotel adjacent to the undisclosed university.
The second suspect, also from Pishin, was detained in a residential area near the campus.
During subsequent interrogations, both suspects confessed to supplying drugs to university students.
The arrests are part of a broader ANF initiative aimed at eradicating drug activity surrounding educational institutions.
Expressing their commitment to safeguarding the future of the nation’s youth, an ANF spokesperson urged the public to cooperate.
They reiterated the agency’s dedication to bringing to justice those who jeopardise the well-being of students.
The spokesperson also urged increased public cooperation to bolster efforts in shielding students from the dangers of drug exploitation.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the apprehended suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
Further investigations are still ongoing to unearth further details regarding their illicit operations and potential accomplices.
This recent success follows a separate ANF raid conducted in August 2024, where over two tonnes of hashish were seized.
The operation resulted in the arrest of four drug smugglers in Quetta.
It was carried out near Mengalabad on the Western Bypass, leading to the interception of drugs from a truck.
Moreover, additional suspects were apprehended in a connected vehicle acting as facilitators.
The detained individuals hailed from the areas of Qilla Abdullah, Quetta, and Chaman.
They were reportedly involved in an attempt to smuggle drugs from Chaman to Sindh via Quetta.
A comprehensive investigation is still underway, focusing on uncovering additional members of the smuggling network responsible for the illicit drug trade.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is receiving appreciation for its efforts to control drug abuse.
