Khudsar, which recently concluded, boasted a stellar cast. These included the likes of Humayoun Ashraf, Zubab Rana, Arsalan Khan, and Sehar Afzal.
However, it was Abubakr’s performance that garnered widespread attention, particularly for his distinct British accent.

The young actor’s portrayal of Nouman Ahmed in Khudsar resonated with audiences, with many lauding his talent.
However, many others questioned the authenticity of his accent.

In a recent interview with renowned journalist Haroon Rasheed, Abubakr Shak shed light on his sudden rise to fame.
Reflecting on his viral scenes and the reception of his accent, Abubakr said it was acquired from his upbringing in various parts of the UK.
Abubakr Shak revealed: “I grew up in England, so, I got this accent from the various parts of the UK which include Swansea, Cardiff, London, Glasgow and Manchester.”
Regarding the criticism he faced for his accent, he stated:
“Even if I was pretending to be a fake Britisher, why is it bothering you so much?”
Abubakr also addressed the controversies surrounding his performance.
He also shared insights into his creative process, revealing that he had expressed reservations about certain dialogues that sparked controversy.
“My first scene went viral in which I inquired about my stepmother, it wasn’t me who wanted to use those words like ‘My foot’, who uses such words?
“I just followed the script. I couldn’t change, although, I wanted to do it. I even told the director about it.”
While his accent has garnered attention and sparked discussions among viewers, it has also drawn criticism from some who questioned its authenticity.
