Kiara Advani made her official appearance at the Cannes Film Festival but it was overshadowed by her appearing to put on a fake accent during an interview.
The actress channelled her inner Barbie as she attended the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women In Cinema Gala event.
Hosted by Vanity Fair, the event brought together six women who are “fiercely redefining what is possible for future generations of female storytellers”.
Saudi Arabian singer Aseel Omran, Saudi Arabian actress Adhwa Fahad, Senegalese director-screenwriter Ramata-Toulaye Sy, Thai actress Sarocha Chankimha aka Freen and Egyptian model Salma Abu Deif were also in attendance.
For the event, Kiara wore an off-shoulder pink and black silk corset gown by the fashion brand NEDO.
Kiara looked radiant as she added a retro touch to her ensemble by wearing lace gloves.
A large pink bow adorned the back of the dress while her hair was styled in a high bun.
Her jewellery was just as opulent as she wore a gorgeous yellow-gold BVLGARI Serpenti necklace and a pink-gold BVLGARI ring.
Kiara kept her makeup classy, with her longtime makeup artist Lekha Gupta opting for her to have light blush on the cheeks, smoky eyeshadow and a glossy pink lipshade.
Kiara shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her getting ready for the event.
She captioned the post: “A night to remember.”
Fans and fellow celebrities were in awe of Kiara’s stunning Cannes look.

Despite Kiara Advani impressing fans with her fashion choice, it was overshadowed by a viral interview.
In an interview, Kiara appeared to put on a fake accent.
She said it is “very very humbling” to be invited to the event, especially as she has completed 10 years of being an actress.
Kiara said: “It comes at a very special moment as well.”
The clip went viral and many netizens claimed she was trying to put on an accent, highlighting her “American” way of saying words like “very” and “at”.
One questioned: “I love her, but why that accent.”
Another said: “Her own accent is really good compared to this.”
