"I requested people not to heed the rumours."
Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal recently made headlines for reportedly breaking lockdown guidelines and was caught by the police as a result.
Currently, India is in nationwide lockdown to prevent the further spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
To keep the situation under control, India extended their lockdown measures till May 3, 2020.
Everyone is being urged to stay at home in order to keep themselves and others safe from the coronavirus unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.
This initiative has also been taken by other countries like the United Kingdom, Spain, Pakistan and more.
While people are observing social distancing and lockdown guidelines, news of Vicky Kaushal stepping out his house unnecessarily have been making the rounds.
Now, Vicky Kaushal, who was seemingly agitated by the false news, has taken to Twitter to defend himself by squashing the rumours.
Vicky strongly denied breaking lockdown rules and being stopped by the police. He wrote:
“There are baseless rumours suggesting that I broke the lockdown and got pulled up by the cops.”
Vicky Kaushal continued to urge his fans not to believe such false rules. He said:
“I’ve not stepped out of my house since the lockdown started. I requested people not to heed the rumours. @MumbaiPolice.”
