"The wedding functions will extend for 3 days"
Preparations for Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal’s wedding continue as they are set to get married on January 24, 2021.
Family members were spotted reaching the wedding destination, Alibaug’s beach resort called The Mansion House.
While the buzz around the couple’s wedding has been going on for a while, it was only on January 21 that the details of the wedding venue were revealed.
It was reported that the couple were deciding between The Mansion House and Radisson Blu Resort & Spa before opting for The Mansion House.
News of the wedding was confirmed by Varun’s uncle, Anil Dhawan. He had said:
“My nephew Varun is getting married on 24 January. I am looking forward to it.”
The wedding is said to be a grand yet intimate affair and reportedly, staff members are banned from having their phones with them during the wedding.
Bride-to-be Natasha issued the strict orders because she does not want their wedding pictures to be leaked on social media.
It is said that around 50 guests will be attending the wedding and both Varun and Natasha have asked their planners to ensure that all guests and staff are following Covid-19 guidelines.
A source told Bollywood Hungama: “The wedding functions will extend for 3 days – January 22, 23 and 24, with the entire guest list of the family following the bio bubble protocol.
“They will all be staying together in the resort and the guest list includes just immediate family members of the couple along with some close friends and colleagues.”
It is believed that the likes of Salman Khan and Karan Johar will be attending, however, Varun’s father David Dhawan is said to have been struggling with the exclusive guest list.
A close friend of the Dhawan family said: “He is having sleepless nights ever since the family decided to invite selected guests. But select whom? David has been a part of the film industry for 45 years. He has formed innumerable professional and personal relationships.
“The thought of inviting some and dropping most of his long-standing associates from the guest list is killing him.”
The source went on to say that friends of the family are making it more difficult for a final guest list to be created.
“There are David’s friends, Varun’s friends, Varun’s brother Rohit’s friends and Natasha’s friends.
“They’re calling up to inform that that they haven’t received the invitation yet. Every time such a call comes, David quickly puts the caller’s name on the list.
“Then he realises that there are others who must get priority and then some more names are dropped.
“David is going crazy trying to prepare a final guest list.
“I feel Varun and Natasha should have gone off to an unknown destination with their immediate families, like Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji.
“Not inviting anyone is okay, calling a selected few not okay.”
Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal have been in a relationship for years after meeting at school.
On Kareena Kapoor Khan’s chat show What Women Want, Varun said they were close friends. He went on to say that he was rejected several times by her before she accepted him.
