In exciting news, Varun Dhawan announced that he is expecting his first child with wife Natasha Dalal.
Varun and Natasha married on January 24, 2021. The pair were dating for a significant amount of time before the wedding.
Natasha is a Mumbai-based fashion designer who owns her own brand.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Varun posted a black-and-white picture of kissing Natasha’s baby bump.
Their pet dog could also be seen looking on.
He wrote: “We are pregnant. Need all your blessings and love. #myfamilymystrength.”
The news attracted positive reactions, as many rushed to congratulate Varun Dhawan and Natasha.
Choreographer and director Remo D’Souza said: “Congratulations mommy and daddy.”
Arjun Kapoor said: “Daddy and Mommy number 1.”
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja added: “Omg, so cute.”
A fan recollected Varun expressing his wish to have a child. She commented:
“Congratulations. Finally, your dream of having your own child is coming true!
“You wished to have a baby girl. I remember you said in an interview!!
“God bless you guys.”
Meanwhile, Varun’s close friend, Karan Johar expressed his happiness.
He said: “Love you both!!!!!!! So, so happy for you and the family!!!!
“Welcome to the best feeling in the world.”
Karan launched Varun in his debut film Student of the Year in 2012. Varun is the son of acclaimed filmmaker David Dhawan.
Varun and Natasha have known each other for over a decade.
In a previous interview, Natasha spoke of how their friendship blossomed into romance.
She explained: “Varun and I were in school together.
“We stayed friends until we were in our mid-20s and then, I remember, we started dating just before I moved away.
“It was around then that, I think, we realised we were more than just good friends.”
In 2021, Varun’s Dilwale co-star Kriti Sanon detailed how the actor changed since marrying Natasha.
She said: “It’s been six years since we worked together.
“I think both of us have grown as actors and individuals.
“He is married now, but he is still the same, only a little more mature than before.”
This is indeed tremendous news for Varun and Natasha and it is also exciting for their fans.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal (2023).
He also appeared in a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), in the song ‘Heart Throb‘.
Varun Dhawan is next set to appear in Kalees’ Baby John, scheduled to be released on May 31, 2024.
