"The truth shall be revealed soon.”
Poonam Pandey is once again in the news, this time for deleting all of her cervical cancer posts on Instagram.
The model and actress caused shockwaves when her team announced she had passed away after a battle with cervical cancer.
Fellow celebrities and fans expressed their grief.
But their grief turned to anger a day later when a very much alive Poonam shared a video to say that her death announcement was made to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
Reality star Nikki Tamboli said at the time: “Absolute cheapness!
“It’s disheartening to witness the depths some individuals will sink to for a momentary spotlight.
“Faking one’s death, especially in the context of a serious illness like cancer, is not just tasteless but downright disrespectful.
“It trivialises the very real struggles that millions face worldwide and breaks the trust of those who genuinely care.
“Let’s not reward such attention-seeking behaviour with our attention.”
As her fake death stunt raised ethical questions, Poonam justified her actions.
While she understood that her stunt was perceived to be “in bad taste”, she said her actions were for a “greater cause”.
Part of a statement read: “Before passing judgement on the act, I urge you to recognise the alarming concern burdening women worldwide.”
Poonam continued to share Instagram posts and stories about cervical cancer, delving into statistics about the number of deaths and urging women to get tested.
However, Poonam has now deleted all of her posts on the subject.
In its place is a post that read: “The truth shall be revealed soon.”
Although Poonam is yet to reveal anything, social media users are not happy about her move, especially since she made headlines around the world for her fake death stunt.
Expressing their displeasure, one said:
“She literally deleted everything about cervical cancer.”
Another wrote: “We don’t want to hear any fake truth.”
Some accused Poonam of creating more “drama” for attention, with one commenting:
“More drama.”
Another agreed:
“Come on, don’t create drama again Poonam.”
Others believed the deletion of her cervical cancer posts meant everything she did was for nothing while some even mocked her, saying she had died for real.
One said: “Now she will really die sometime. Even then no one will believe.”
Another user wrote: “Plot twist she is indeed dead.”
A person said: “Now she will say that I am really dead.”
A comment read: “The truth is Poonam was dead.”
