"Am I the only one who feels this is scripted?"
Poonam Pandey found herself at the centre of controversy after a supposedly unsettling encounter with a fan on February 21, 2025.
Known for her bold fashion choices, Poonam was seen wearing a red, figure-hugging dress with a plunging neckline, paired with a denim jacket and golden stilettos.
She stepped out of her luxury car to pose for photographers before making her way to a Mumbai restaurant.
Poonam was then approached by a man believed to be a fan, briefly startling her.
He has his phone in his hand and requests a selfie, with Poonam obliging.
But as Poonam poses for the picture, the fan leans in to try and kiss her.
Poonam pushes him away while other paparazzi intervene, reprimanding the individual for his inappropriate behaviour.
The incident was captured on video and has since been widely shared online. However, it has sparked a debate.
Some condemned the fan’s actions as a clear breach of personal space, highlighting past instances where fans have gotten too close to celebrities.
One person called the incident “outright harassment”.
However, many have trolled Poonam and called the incident “staged”.
One person commented: “Am I the only one who feels this is scripted? She seemed uncomfortable from the beginning, which makes me suspicious.”
Another added: “Her acting was quite unconvincing.”
Mocking the incident, a third said:
“This looks more scripted than WWE.”
According to one person, the ‘fan’ in the video is a “C-grade actor”.

Many are unconvinced by the legitimacy of the incident due to past controversies involving Poonam Pandey.
In February 2024, India was left shocked when it was reported that Poonam had died after battling cervical cancer.
But shock quickly turned to anger when a very much alive Poonam posted a video and revealed that it was a publicity stunt to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
Poonam was labelled shameful and it has made the public less trusting of her. Due to this, many are sceptical about whether the kissing incident was real or just another attention-seeking stunt.
One person said: “Scripted or not, this is embarrassing and disgusting.
“But she has faked her own death so if this turned out to be scripted, no one would be surprised.”
Regardless of differing opinions, the video has fuelled widespread debate on social media, drawing mixed reactions from the public.
With speculation still swirling, Poonam Pandey has not yet issued a statement addressing the allegations of the incident being staged.
Meanwhile, the conversation surrounding celebrity privacy and safety remains a heated topic, leaving many divided over the nature of the encounter.
