"When you are happy on the inside, it shows on the outside"
Shilpa Shetty Kundra has called Dimple Kapadia her “Bollywood hair crush”.
When asked about how she keeps herself looking so young at 46-years-old, she emphasised her use of natural products, India TV reported.
Shetty said: “Nutrition is very important. I have eight soaked almonds and walnuts in a day.
“A good hair care routine, like deep conditioning the hair frequently and making sure that my scalp is sweat-free and clean, using a suitable shampoo.”
Asked whose hair she is envious most of in Bollywood, Shetty said Dimple Kapadia, who coincidentally share a birthday together on June 8.
Her comments come shortly after she was announced as the brand ambassador for Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.
Known for being a yoga enthusiast, the Apne (2007) star also shared how meditating has helped her overall wellbeing.
Shetty noted: “Time has proven that yoga is very beneficial for skin and hair by enhancing blood circulation throughout the body.
“Certain asanas like Shirshasan and other forward-bending asanas strengthen the hair by activating the roots.
“Doing yoga brings your body into a sense of calm, lowers stress, and brings hormones into a happy and healthier balance.
“When you are happy on the inside, it shows on the outside, giving you a radiant glow.”
Meanwhile, Kapadia shared her own tips for hair care in a recent interview with Vogue India, explaining her use of oil.
She said: “I remember my hair being laden with oil and tied into two tight braids with a side parting.
“This was a requisite style for school and my mother adhered to it religiously.
“The habit of oiling was prevalent throughout my childhood, and it helped as I have always had very dry, thick and coarse hair.
“Without the amount of professional styling I’ve had over the years, it would not look so glossy and shiny.”
Adding how her oiling routine has changed since, the 64-year-old said:
“Oiling goes a long, long way.
“I oil my hair overnight then get a head massage with a homemade hair pack which is a mixture of eggs, 5 whites and a whole egg, and a banana.
“I leave it on for 10-30 minutes and then wash it through with lukewarm water.”
Shilpa Shetty regularly appears as a judge on a variety of Indian talent shows, including Super Dancer and Nach Baliye.
