Sherlyn Chopra seemingly took a dig at Shilpa Shetty’s statement to the police about her husband’s alleged involvement in the creation and sharing of pornography.
Shilpa told the authorities that she was not aware of her hubby Raj Kundra’s activities. The actress claimed she was busy with her own work.
Raj Kundra has spent several weeks in judicial custody. A charge sheet was filed by the Mumbai Police’s crime branch on September 16, 2021.
Shilpa’s husband is being investigated for his connection to apps that created alleged pornographic content.
In his defence, Kundra has said that it is simply adult content. Actress and model Sherlyn Chopra shared a video on Twitter in which she said in Hindi:
“According to some reports, didi is saying that she was not aware of the nefarious activities of her husband.
“Didi is also saying that she doesn’t know about the movable and immovable assets of her husband.
“How true is this statement, you guys can understand yourselves.”
Throughout the video, she is seen lifting weights.
In her statement, Shilpa Shetty claimed that she was not aware of the pornography business led by her husband.
She also told police that she had no knowledge about the apps, Bollyfame, and Hotshots. Sherlyn had previously said when questioned about this issue:
“They asked me about my agreement with Armsprime and what the terms and conditions of the contract were.
“They even asked about how many videos I shot with them and who all were a part of the content production.”
Sherlyn had also accused Kundra of misguiding her into shooting pornographic material. Kundra had allegedly told Sherlyn that Shilpa had seen and liked her videos.
In an interview with India Today Television, Sherlyn spoke about Kundra misguiding her:
“Raj Kundra was my mentor. He had misguided me, saying whatever I was shooting was for glamour. He even told me that Shilpa Shetty likes my videos and photos.
“Raj Kundra made me believe that semi-nude and porn is casual, everyone does it and so should I.”
In a statement shared via social media, Shilpa urged the media to respect the family’s privacy for the sake of the couple’s children – Viaan and Samisha.
Shilpa has maintained that she is a “proud law-abiding Indian citizen.”
Both Sherlyn Chopra and Shilpa Shetty are among 43 witnesses whose statements have been recorded in the charge sheet filed by the Mumbai Police.
