He slammed the author and publication house
Since debuting with the 1981 release of the super hit movie ‘Rocky’ Sanjay Dutt has remained one of the most popular actors of the Bollywood film industry.
However recently, the superstar has been in the press, after he filed a legal case against the author, Yasser Usman, who released a fake autobiography of the actor.
The so-called biography, ‘The Crazy Untold Story of Bollywood’s Bad Boy’ written by Yasser Usman, exposed controversial events that have happened during the actor’s personal life.
The biography starts off by revealing how his parents, veteran Actor Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt met and got married as well as discussing Sanjay Dutt’s life.
It delves into his boarding school days, family relationships, his drug addiction and rehabilitation, the alleged affair with Bollywood beauty Madhuri Dixit, and the tragic death of his mother.
The book also included the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case and his present image as the ‘reformed goon’ similarly to his role in the hit ‘Munna Bhai MBBS.’
Fans reacted towards biography, by spreading rumours and gossiping, as they believed the facts in the book to be true.
However, Sanjay only came to know about the biography, after reading a few baseless excerpts, concerning his personal life.
He slammed the author and publication house, Juggernaut Publications, in a tweet, for releasing the fake biography, without his consent and filed a legal case against Yasser.
I hope better sense will prevail and there will be no further excerpts that will hurt me or my family. My official autobiography will be out soon which will be authentic and based on facts. pic.twitter.com/iOiazTRc6n

After seeing Sanjay’s tweet on how upset he was by the book, the publication took to Facebook to post a public apology towards the actor. They said:
“We are sorry to hear that Mr Sanjay Dutt was upset by our book on him. The author, Yasser Usman, an award-winning journalist and reputed writer on Bollywood actors, is a fan and very sympathetic to Mr Dutt. Yasser has chosen his sources and materials with care. He has relied extensively on direct quotes from Mr Dutt, his close associates such as Mr Mahesh Bhatt, and members of the Dutt family. Additionally, Yasser has referred to stories already in the public record for many years that were uncontested and widely reported. These stories that have appeared in leading film periodicals have relied on accounts of credible and authoritative sources, people who have either worked closely with or been associated in various capacities with Mr Dutt. The book has been painstakingly footnoted, and the sources the book has relied upon have clearly been mentioned.’’
“Moreover, as has been said in most of Yasser’s interviews and pieces in the press, he is a huge admirer of Mr Dutt’s honesty and lack of pretence and believes these qualities meaningfully set him apart from the rest of the film industry. The book is a homage to those admirable and rare traits of honesty and frankness. However, to pay respect to Mr Dutt’s wishes, we won’t put out any more extracts from the book in short-form media.’’
Meanwhile, Sanjay did assure fans in his tweet of outrage at the fake book that we will be releasing an official autobiography which will have his endorsement and will be authentic.
Sanjay is currently working on quite a few upcoming movies, including ‘Torbaaz’ an action thriller, directed by Girish Malik, ‘Malang’ an action drama, directed by Aarambhh Singh and Mahesh Bhatt ‘Sadak 2’ a drama film, said to be released in 2018.
There is news that he will be singing a song for the movie. Rahul Mittra approached Sanjay to sing ‘O Meri Aangan Ki Chidiya Hai Tu’ after he hummed the tune, as he felit it apt that he sang it for the scenes in the film. The song is about the poignant representation of a father-daughter relationship.
There are also rumours of a third part to the blockbuster hit ‘Munnabhai which will star Sanjay, alongside Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. However, this movie is still under the ‘discussion pipeline’ So all we can do is wait and see.
