"it all changed that night."
A visit to India resulted in a hospital trip for Sam Pepper after he drank bhang lassi.
The British YouTuber has been touring the country and his trip took him to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
In a video, Sam explained that he went to a roadside stall and ordered bhang lassi, which is a cannabis-infused milk drink.
He explained: “I did the worst thing you could do in India and I ended up in the hospital.
“The food that you should never ever touch and I tried myself some of that finger milk (bhang).
“This guy’s been on the street for over 17 years making this.
“The guy making the drink was a holy man, so I had a bit of a trust in him but I probably shouldn’t have.
“After drinking this milk, I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I continued on with my day like nothing happened, but it all changed that night.”
Sam vomited throughout the night.
It eventually stopped at 7 am but he had a high temperature that became so severe that he called a doctor to his hotel room.
Sam continued: “This doctor had a very nice briefcase so I trusted everything he said and I took the medicine he gave me.
“But the medicine kicked the bacteria into overdrive inside my stomach and next thing I know instead of coming out of my mouth it was coming out the other end.”
After continuing to feel sick, his friends took him to hospital.
Also suffering from diarrhoea, Sam claimed that it had turned bright green.
Despite receiving IV fluids and antibiotics, his condition did not improve.
The influencer also claimed that doctors could not figure out what was wrong even though they had conducted tests.
He also said his treatment was mishandled, with nurses leaving his IV drip valve open.
In the video, Sam said he felt unsafe in the Indian hospital and travelled to Bangkok for further tests.

Sam Pepper’s ordeal divided social media users.
While some sympathised with the internet personality, others mocked him.
One wrote: “India’s food and drinks aren’t for everyone. Hope he recovers soon!”
Another commented: “Bhang is not for the faint-hearted, especially for first-timers. Poor guy.”
Criticising him for visiting a roadside stall, a third said:
“Why the heck do all these people come and eat on the roadside in the name of experience when you know your stomach is not strong enough to digest?
“Just go to some good fine dining restaurants and eat there, there are plenty of them.”
