In the footage, Adeem is heard making derogatory comments about Sindhi people.
In addition to this, Adeem’s inflammatory remarks included an unfounded and offensive claim where he said:

“They call themselves Muslims, but their actions are worse than those of Hindus.”
The video sparked widespread outrage on social media.
The Sindhi community particularly is among those who are demanding action against Adeem.
Responding to a petition filed by a lawyer, the police have registered a case against Sahil Adeem.
This was at Karachi’s City Police Station under various sections, including incitement of hatred and promoting enmity between different groups.
As of July 13, 2024, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. However, no arrest has been made yet.
Sahil Adeem, son of the renowned poet and writer Adeem Hashmi, is known for his lectures on YouTube and appearances on television programs.

A user wrote:
“Who gave him so much freedom? He can not say such hurtful things and not face the consequences.”
Another added: “He is a person of influence and he is being racist. He has stereotyped Sindhis and put them in the category of an illiterate community.”
One said: “He does not have bad intentions but he should think before he speaks on TV. Not everything should be so freely spoken about.”
Another stated: “He is the kind of person who thinks very highly of himself and looks down on others for not being good Muslims like him.
“He doesn’t even know how to explain things clearly and after creates misunderstandings”
