"The game itself is in my arrogance."
The trailer for Peddi, the highly anticipated sports action film starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has arrived.
It was unveiled at a grand launch event held in Mumbai by the film’s makers.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the three-minute trailer immediately establishes the scale and soul of the film.
Ram Charan plays Peddi, a village hero who doubles as a sporting icon and a deeply beloved natural leader.
Set against a vivid rural backdrop, the film weaves together cricket, wrestling and sprinting into one compelling story.
Peddi’s larger-than-life stature is set up powerfully through one of the trailer’s most memorable early moments.
Boman Irani, in a special appearance, asks a group of youngsters about their favourite player on screen.
No matter which sport is mentioned, every single answer from the crowd points unanimously to one name.
The line that follows says it all: “For youngsters, he is not a deity in a temple but a deity on the playground.”
Ram Charan undergoes multiple striking physical transformations throughout the trailer, moving between a lean cricketer and a powerfully built wrestler.
His character’s arrogance and defiance come through in one of the trailer’s most electrifying and memorable lines.
Peddi declares: “The game itself is in my arrogance.”
Janhvi Kapoor plays Achiyyamma, introduced in a warmer and more intimate scene early in the trailer.
Peddi calls her a “star that fell from the sky,” turning the moment into something genuinely tender and romantic.
While Achiyyamma appears cheerful and warm throughout, the trailer quietly hints at a deeper and more layered emotional strength.
She is clearly positioned as far more than just a conventional romantic interest within the larger narrative.
The story, however, stretches well beyond the playing field and into a much larger and more urgent conflict.
The trailer hints strongly at a village trapped under the heavy grip of oppression imposed by powerful outside figures.
Peddi steps forward as a protector for his community, using sport itself as a form of collective resistance.
His battles unfold both on the field and far beyond it, giving the film a grounded political undertone throughout.
The closing moments of the trailer reframe the entire journey through a single, deeply powerful and memorable statement:
“You all think I played, but what I actually did was fight, Sir.”
A few brief glimpses of Delhi also suggest that the story eventually expands well beyond its rural setting.
The film features a strong and well-assembled supporting cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma and Ravi Kishan.
Peddi is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 4, 2026, with premiere shows planned a day ahead.
The film will release simultaneously in multiple languages, widening its reach to audiences across different regions of the country.
