Karachi is set to host its first international electronic music event, with Swedish DJ and producer Axwell headlining.
The event, titled First Light, is scheduled for September 19, 2026, at Moin Khan Academy, also known as DHA Sports Club.
The announcement was made through a press statement issued by OP Productions.
The Karachi-based live entertainment and concert production company is behind the event.
Axwell, whose real name is Axel Christofer Hedfors, is a Swedish DJ, producer and member of the globally celebrated Swedish House Mafia.
He is widely regarded as one of the most influential and defining figures in the history of modern electronic music worldwide.
First Light was conceived and creatively directed by OP Productions CEO Omer H Paracha.
Organisers have also placed a strong emphasis on audience safety and overall experience as central priorities.
Local acts Bilal Brohi and Hazey will open the night ahead of Axwell’s headline set, giving Pakistani talent a platform.
OP Productions has positioned First Light as a long-term platform for bringing international touring artists to Pakistan.
The company cited Pakistan’s population of more than 240 million and its young median age as significant factors driving the country’s potential.
Pakistan was described by OP Productions as one of the largest untapped markets in global live entertainment.
Paracha spoke about the vision behind the event and what it represents for Pakistan’s place in the global live music landscape:

“We have the audience, the energy and the appetite for world-class live entertainment and with First Light we intend to prove to the world that Pakistan, and its people, are more than capable of hosting it.”
His words reflect a broader ambition to place Pakistan firmly and permanently on the global touring map for international artists.
A dedicated Pink section has been reserved exclusively for solo women attending the event.
Tickets for First Light are available through Ticketwala across multiple categories designed to accommodate a wide range of audience preferences and budgets.
The available ticket tiers include Bronze, Silver, Gold, VIP and Platinum options for those planning to attend the historic event.
Limited early-bird pricing has also been made available across all categories, encouraging fans to secure their spots early.
