The actress put her own twist on the Indian breakfast

Gwyneth Paltrow gave her fans a glimpse into her breakfast routine, putting a popular Indian dish at the centre of her latest morning meal.

The actress regularly shares breakfast recipes and ideas on Instagram, where her latest creation featured savoury chilla served with eggs and mint chutney.

Chilla is a savoury Indian pancake commonly made with gram flour and can be adapted with different vegetables, spices and herbs. The dish is often eaten as a breakfast or snack, making it a versatile option for home cooking.

The actress put her own twist on the Indian breakfast, adding leftover short ribs.

Paltrow began by preparing a chilla batter using besan, or ground chickpea flour, alongside a mix of spices.

She added chopped onions, tomatoes and grated ginger before whisking the ingredients together.

The Iron Man star then heated a pan and poured two ladlefuls of the batter onto it, cooking the chillas until they were ready.

Meanwhile, she prepared three eggs in a separate non-stick pan, adding a little water as they cooked.

To serve, Paltrow plated the chillas with leftover short ribs from the previous evening.

She then topped the eggs with a spoonful of green mint chutney before sitting down to enjoy the breakfast.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Gwyneth Paltrow wrote:

“Mint chutney eggs and savoury Indian chilla pancakes with last night’s leftover short ribs #boyfriendbreakfast.”

The breakfast caught the attention of several people in the comments section, including actress Mindy Kaling, who wrote: “Need to try”.

One user offered Paltrow some advice about preparing the onions, commenting:

“If you place a damp cloth next to you while chopping onions, you won’t cry. It absorbs some of the irritating compounds released by the onion”.

Another said: “Looks great.”

One comment read:

“What a recipe, will try it for sure”.

This is not the first time Gwyneth Paltrow has shared a breakfast recipe with her followers.

Recently, she posted a one-pan breakfast made with eggs, turkey sausage, leafy greens, cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs, many of which she picked from her own garden.

In the video, she cooked the ingredients and finished the dish with fresh herbs before serving.
