“Both of us had this idea of keeping the melody at the heart of the song while giving it a contemporary sound.
“Neeti approached the melody with the natural expression and nuances of an Indian vocalist, while the production gave the song a modern pop energy.
“We didn’t want the traditional elements to feel forced.”
