"I want to be an example for others"
Pakistani model Diya Ali has been turning heads after images from her recent bikini shoot have reportedly gone viral.
The sumptuous beauty shows off her toned body in sizzling photos that have been taken in the run up to Miss Eco International 2018.
In the images captured by UK photographer Vipin Hari, Diya dons a variety of different coloured bikinis against various backdrops.
The first sees her stun in a printed one-piece as she comes out of the pool.
In another photo, Ali scorches in a two piece electric blue number that shows off her incredible figure.
Diya is the next big thing in the Pakistani modelling industry. What’s interesting is that the 24-year-old has been competing in international pageants for a few years now, and has seemingly done so without any commercial support.
In 2016, she won the ‘Miss Perpetual’ title at the Miss Asia Pacific International in the Philippines. Allegedly, Diya also happened to be the first Pakistani girl to ever be selected for the prestigious ‘Miss Perpetual’ title.
Soon after the experience, Ali set her sights on Miss Mister World International 2017 in Kosovo, where Diya told The Express Tribune:
“It is an honour to represent Pakistan in a contest where so many beautiful women will compete with each other. Although I have no cooperation from the government and my modelling journey could be short-lived, I am excited to be nominated.”
In another interview with Images Dawn, Diya reveals how she started modelling almost by accident after being scouted to take part in a lawn fashion shoot:
“It wasn’t THE dream when I started. But when I entered the field and saw how it all works, I loved it. I want to work in the fashion world in a better way, maybe take steps towards projects on an international level.
“I want to be an example for others, those who keep themselves in one specific aspect of the field, I want to show them how we can and should work globally.”
She commends the competition for bringing her out of her comfort zone and helping her realise her dreams. She added:
“Beauty pageants are a big platform for contestants today. They are opportunities to empower women with self-confidence. It can create many more opportunities for a woman to discover one’s own potential.”
The Lahore-based model whose real name is Madeeha Naseer has also had her eye on a successful acting career in Pakistan and overseas.
Diya has reportedly already worked on a number of TV serials in Pakistan. Including Bay Daro Dewar Ghar, Haya Ka Daman, Moor Mahal and Shehr-i-Naz. As she gains more and more fame, she hopes to also appear in films.
Currently, her mind is set on Miss Eco International 2018, which she hopes to win:
“Such contests, especially Miss Eco International, focuses on the wellness of the mind, body and spirit of all the candidates that represent their respective countries,” she said.
“So, I have been focusing on my training, alongside studying about the environment, so I can give suggestions for the beautification of this planet during the sessions.”
The contest will be held in Egypt on 10th April 2018.
