Police in Malaysia arrested a Pakistani man for allegedly raping and forcing his own wife and daughter into prostitution.
The 43-year-old is set to be formally charged in court on Thursday, August 6, 2020.
Selangor CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Datuk Fadzil Ahmat explained that the suspect was expected to be charged under Section 13b and Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act (ATIPSOM).
The charges fall under the use of force to traffic a person for the purpose of exploitation and trafficking a child for the purpose of exploitation.
In a statement, Assistant Commissioner Ahmat revealed that three other Pakistani nationals and a Bangladeshi man were also involved.
He said: “The man and three Pakistani men, as well as a Bangladeshi man, aged between 29 and 35, are also expected to be charged with rape under Section 376(3) and Section 376(2) of the Penal Code.
“The father is expected to face all charges at the Klang Sessions Court, while the four foreigners are expected to face charges at the Kajang Court.”
The matter first came to light on July 11, 2020, when the child’s aunt approached the police.
She said that her niece had been raped and forced into prostitution by her father at a property in Hulu Langat. The aunt went on to reveal that the ordeal had been going on since 2017.
It was not revealed how the wife might have been victimised, however, it is believed that she was also raped and forced into prostitution.
Prior to the aunt informing the police, it had been reported that eight men had been arrested following allegations of rape and prostitution of a 13-year-old girl.
This included her own father.
The eight men who were initially investigated for rape were also investigated under ATIPSOM.
Kajang OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohammed Zaid Hassan explained that the aunt had alleged that her 13-year-old niece was raped and prostituted by her father.
According to police, the victim has been sexually abused since she was 10.
Her mother found out about the Pakistani man’s abuse and he did not repeat his actions. However, he prostituted his daughter and is believed to have done the same with his wife.
Assistant Commissioner Hassan revealed that from mid-2019 to February 2020, the child was forced to have sex with approximately 20 men.
The men were customers who had been invited by the father.
