“Animal cruelty often leads to violence"

A young model and influencer has been arrested in Lahore after disturbing videos of animal abuse surfaced online.

The incident came to light when JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter received multiple alerts about a woman allegedly killing and mutilating pets.

Reports claimed she had shared graphic content of the abuse on Instagram.

In the videos, she appeared to be torturing rabbits, cats, and exotic birds. The shelter immediately contacted the police.

Authorities reached the Defence B area and found the influencer at home, surrounded by dead animals, blood, and cages.

According to the JFK team, the suspect was laughing when approached. Her father reportedly tried to hide her during the police raid.

Visuals shared online showed cages of rabbits, cats, and birds of prey, some visibly injured or dead.

ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi, who led the operation, later confirmed in a statement that the woman was taken into custody.

She was shifted to a mental healthcare facility after admitting to past rehabilitation attempts and fleeing those centres.

ASP Naqvi urged the public to stop gifting pets to individuals with visible mental health struggles.

She warned: “Animal cruelty often leads to violence against vulnerable groups and children.”

A formal case was registered at Defence B Police Station under multiple laws.

These include Section 289 of the Pakistan Penal Code and several clauses from the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1890.

Additional charges under Punjab’s wildlife protection laws were also applied.

The case, filed by the Police Animal Rescue Centre (PARC), cited extreme cruelty involving caged animals who were later killed.

Police are investigating whether her actions were connected to drug use or possible satanic rituals.

According to JFK’s statement, the house was littered with drug paraphernalia, animal carcasses, and blood.

The organisation called the scene “beyond comprehension”.

The model’s peers from the fashion industry also shared troubling details.

They said the influencer would show up to modelling gigs intoxicated and frequently lash out at makeup artists.

Animal rights advocates stressed that this case shows the urgent need for stronger provincial laws.

While the federal government increased fines seven years ago, most of the country remains under the same old framework.

With police vowing to pursue the matter seriously, many online are demanding long-overdue legal reforms.

The public remains stunned by the horrific nature of the crime.

Many described the case as “evil”, “heartbreaking” and “a call for national introspection”.
